The Center for Health Sciences Research, Fatima Memorial Hospital (CHSR-FMH), proudly launched MedVerse, the institution’s first annual student research conference. The conference was led by Eeman Ahmed (MS5) and Noorulain Saleem (MS4), whose hard work and commitment were central to making this first edition a success.
MedVerse included a well-rounded program with oral presentations, interactive workshops, and poster presentations. Students from all across Pakistan presented their research projects, showing clear interest, dedication, and curiosity toward academic research. The conference also received participants from other countries, establishing its impact and capacity to cross borders.
The workshops provided practical learning opportunities, helping participants build important skills needed for writing, conducting, and presenting research.
Oral Presentations
The oral presentations took place in the college auditorium and showed how well students had prepared their research work. Students from different colleges came to present, and the audience including peers, teachers, and judges listened with great interest. Every presenter explained their topic with good understanding, which led to helpful questions and comments. At least fifteen oral presentations were conducted. The projects covered many areas, including the usage of multiple Artificial Intelligence (AI) models in healthcare systems, complex clinical cases, ideas for improving public health, and Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs). The wide range of topics made the session enjoyable and encouraging for everyone who attended.
Poster Presentations
The poster presentation area was filled with students from across Pakistan who proudly displayed the research they had worked on for months or even years. Participants explained their posters with great energy and interest, sharing what they had learned through their projects. Visitors moved from one poster to another, asking questions and offering helpful comments. The atmosphere was lively, with many discussions that allowed everyone to learn from each other. It was a wonderful space for exchanging ideas and appreciating the hard work behind each study.
Almost fifty research projects were presented and judged by a diverse and non-biased panel. The projects ranged from original studies to multiple systematic reviews and meta-analyses.

The Center for Health Sciences Research, Fatima Memorial Hospital (CHSR-FMH), collaborated with VFAHT-SIMS to organize a two-day event titled “Case Unlocked.” This activity aimed at enhancing the skills of medical students in writing case reports. The activity was divided into two phases:
1. Day 1 – Workshop on Case Reports
The speaker for this session was Noorulain Saleem (MS4 FMHCMD and Deputy Convener at CHSR-FMH). More than 50 participants showed their interest by joining the session.
2. Day 2 – Hands-On Case Report Writing Activity
On the second day, participants received hands-on practice in writing case reports. They worked on writing their own reports, while the CHSR and VFAHT teams were present to help and guide them when needed. By the end of the session, many students had finished full case reports and learned how to present clinical information clearly. The session focused on the art of case report writing, helping students understand both the format and the skills needed to write a good case report. More than 30 participants showed up, with 15 case reports completed that day.
